I love a traditional Eton Mess, underneath Fudge and Cheesecake it’s up there as one of my fave puds. I’d been looking for a good Chocolate Eton Mess (or Chocolate Mess i believe it’s called) recipe for a while to try as I thought it would work better in the winter, but couldn’t really find one that didn’t include fruit of some sort. So I thought i’d create my own with all my favourite sweet ingredients to make a super indulgent version of one my my favourite puddings!

Best part about this recipe is you can totally make it your own by swapping in the things you like best, and it only takes about 10 minutes so doesn’t cut into your wine drinking time – yay!

Ingredients (makes 4):

1. 300g pot of double cream
2. 10 heaped tabled spoons of nutella
3. 2 large meringue nests, crushed
4. 2 slack handfuls of finely chopped fudge pieces (chocolate chips work just as well)
5. 1 mars bar, roughly chopped
6. 1 shot port
7. 2 teaspoons of vanilla essence

Method:

1. Melt the nutella in the microwave for 30 seconds and line the bottom of your ramekins/martini glasses

2. Add the port and vanilla to the cream and whisk with an electric mixer until firm and smooth

3. Add in 3/4 of the mars bar, fudge pieces and meringue (leaving some for decoration) and 2 tablespoons of nutella

4. Gently fold together so the pieces are well distributed and the nutella creates a marble effect

5. Add on top of the lined ramekins/margarita glasses and decorate with remaining ingredients

6. Chill for at least an hour until ready to serve
