I’ve been suffering from writers block a little bit lately so Steph suggested I take on the 30 Day Writing Challenge – Challenge Accepted! Here Goes…

1. Summer

Obvious I know but It never ceases to amaze me how nice weather instantly puts people in a better mood. I’m like a flower, I lean towards the sun so It’s a shame really I live in the North East of England because we have 1 week of summer a year. Bright summery colours also suit my hair and complexion!

2. A Good Run
As opposed to a bad run of course, which I do way more often than a good run. Running always feels like it takes more effort than just going to the gym and our house is at the top of quite a steep hill (think the travelator at the end of Gladiators) so getting back home after an hour or so always feels even more virtuous.

3. Cake

Actually what i should say is ‘icing’ but only very occasionally do I eat icing on it’s own. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect cake, the winner so far is cupcakes from the Great British Cupcakery in Newcastle but like any good scientist, thorough research is required so the search continues.

4. Squeezing Spots
Yep, I’m one of those people who loves anything pus-filled and oozing. The fact you can now watch an array of popping pimple videos on youtube instead of having to wait for your own make me unnaturally happy. Only problem with watching those though is I get jealous I’m not the one doing the squeezing!

5. People Being Kind
Not necessarily to me, although that obviously makes me very happy, seeing people say nice things to each other, or make each other smile, random acts of kindness etc It’s called autonomous sensory meridian response and often causes tingling or the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up (it’s true, I googled it!)

6. My Friends and Family

I have a very small group of friends and am very close to mine and my husband’s family and we all have such a good time together. I absolutely love it when we all get together (it usually involves copious amount of alcohol) and have right belly laughs. It makes me happy that I’ve found a group of girls who are so similar to me and make me smile so much 🙂

7. Rediscovering a song you used to love but had forgotten about
This doesn’t happen so much any more but when YouTube and Spotify took off i must have spent years trawling through the depths of my musical memory trying to find all those one hit wonders I used to love as a teenager but never held a hard copy of and it was amazing.

8. Videos of animals falling off things

No explanation needed really, hella funny!

9. Getting Mail
I’ve been an avid ebayer for many years now and I still get excited when I come home to a front door full of parcels. It makes me even happier when what I’ve ordered actually fits and i’ve only paid 99p for it (which is something over time I’m getting better at!)

10. Wine

Saving the best til last obviously! Too many wines and i’m not all that happy the morning after of course but that first sip on a Friday night after a long week makes me very happy indeed!
