I found this one hard, not because I don’t have any words of wisdom, but because there are so many phrases I love, it was hard to pick!
Below are are few of my favourite quotes or phrases as meme’s that I’ve always loved:
I’ll hold my hands up and say I like a gossip with my friends as much as the next person, but 99% of the time it’s idol chit chat with no real malice. I try and remind myself of this saying when i hear something that I feel is bordering on the vindictive, or if, even worse I hear through the jungle drums someone has been gossiping about me unnecessarily. Always be a Sally not a Susie.
Pretty self explanatory really and definitely not something I stick to all the time by any means, I’m not the best and engaging brain before opening mouth but as advice goes, it’s pretty solid!
Is it a song? Is it a poem? Doesn’t really matter, this speech was written as if it were to be delivered to a college graduating class for the Chicago Tribune in 1997 and I’ve been in love with it since I first heard it. Especially the bit about staying close with your siblings. I moved around a lot as a child and it was really important to me that I was so close (and still am) to my big brother, thiS song always reminds me of him!
