It’s an unwritten rule that as soon as you utter the words BBQ, the rain gods do their rain dance and you end up booking all your burgers and sausages on the gill in the kitchen. Not that that ever stops us though. I love a good barbeque, mainly because I love an excuse to drink in the day, I also love that every year you make an obligatory potato salad and every year no one eats it because all everyone really wants in bread, meat and beer.
I always take pride in having the right music at any party we may be hosting, and it’s even been known for me to hijack the music choices at an event someone else’s party too. I take my music very seriously. BBQ music is relatively easy, you’re safe with pretty much anything with the word ‘summer’ in the title but you do have to bear in mind that at most barbeques I go to, there’s often a wide age range of people there so you want to try and cater for all tastes.
That’s why I’ve decided to share my BBQ Spotify playlist that I put together at the beginning of the summer back when I thought we were going to be burning charcoal every weekend from May to September. I’ve done the hard work so you don’t have to!
Nevertheless I think this covers all bases, there’s a wide range of modern pop classics and well, classic pop classics too, mixed in with a couple of my personal favourite songs which you may not have heard before but give them a chance. It’s also 100% child friendly.
So enjoy this 7 hours’ worth of BBQ bangers (see what I did there, bangers…like sausages… oh never mind) to set your party of right, and if 7 hours isn’t long enough well, it probably means your drunk and should go home!
