*I received a complimentary treat box however have not been asked to post this review
One of the best things to come out of lockdown is undoubtedly the fact that when life has handed people lemons, they’ve chopped them up and hoyed them in a gin an tonic. The entrepreneurial spirit of people has been inspiring. I found UK Sweet Taste on a local Facebook group sharing their delicious looking chocolate covered strawberry treat boxes. We got chatting about local stuff and they very kindly sent me a box to try.
I always used to think of myself as a savoury over sweet person, give my crisps and dip any day, however as I’ve gotten older I’m definitely leaning more towards the sweet side. And the best thing about chocolate covered strawberries? One of your 5 a day. So totally guilt free right?! Our treat box came with eight chocolate covered strawbs, a cake pop and some little mini bars of chocolate. They come beautifully packaged so make ideal gifts, and the perfect amount for one indulgent treat or, as I was forced to do, enough to share.
UK Sweet Taste have been up and running since February this year and Marwa, who always loved baking and perfected her skills during lockdown and decided to share her passion with others. And her USP is her gorgeous treat boxes and bespoke cakes, designed to order, and are beautiful!!
The strawberries for a start were huge, and dipped in a really generous thick layer of chocolate. The cake pop was, in all honesty, complete heaven, again dipped in thick chocolate, with moist gooey chocolate cake inside. Everything is beautifully decorated with a lovely marble effect which makes the whole set look really high end.
I really recommend UK Sweet Taste for when you’re thinking of a gift, or perhaps even a treat foe yourself from somewhere local, hand made to perfection with care and attention. Prices for treat boxes start from £12 but check them out on instagram and send them a message if you have any celebration requirements, they’ll have you covered!
Because what’s better than fruit than fruit dipped in chocolate?!
